Revenge is a dish best served digital: Part II

Logged in this morning, expecting to see a new IP address appearing in my log.txt. Sadly, there was none. A quick glance at the website revealed why.

This kid just wasn't getting it, he thought it was a joke and i was beginning to lose my temper. It's hard to believe how stupid people can be sometimes. He stole virtual items from me, which i'm ok with. After all, it's just a game. However publishing about his endeavours in a blog is just too far. It's humiliating, and this blog has been made to document people like this and take them down.

I believe i figured out the problem however. The link wasn't a hyperlink, and he was too lazy to insert it into his address bar. I really should've seen this coming, people nowadays prefer everything to be hyperlinked to save time, they would rather not copy and paste into the address bar.

There are many people such as Toxic Yaken, who believe they are better than everyone else. The truth is they aren't as you saw here. He clicked my infected link twice without thinking about it, even though i used the aptly named shadyurls.com to hide the original link. In fact my new cookie stealer has (hqxq) basically saying (hack) but with an x. Suspicious right? Not to him apparently as he still thinks it's a joke. This is a prime example of someone ignorant to the world of networking and computers.

One thing i forgot to mention was that during one of our chats before i resigned, he mentioned how he was having connection problems. I frequently saw him getting booted off his network. He may think this is normal, but with all the corps he's messed up i'm pretty sure someone's booting him off his network. An easy thing to fix if you know what you're doing, thankfully he does not. Looks like someone's doing my job for me.

Feeling defeated i decided to enlist the help of someone more experienced. You may say thanks for the isk Toxic Yaken, but soon i'll be saying thanks for the IP.

Revenge is a dish best served digital: Part I

My first post! Ironically it happened just as my corporation was scammed in EVE online. Being the short tempered person i am, i proceeded to code a cookie stealer in an attempt to discover this guys IP. Overreaction? i think not. Aside from stealing other people money, this guy decided to humiliate me in his blog. Big Mistake. Playing on his ego i decided to post something that would make him click my stealer.

The basic coding was easy

Main Link >> Redirect to Index >> HTML Redirect to Cookie Stealer Page

Of course, i had to rename my cookies stealer to something less obvious

After hours of pondering i decided to name in "Innocent". Because that's what it is.....right?

Thinking this guy couldn't be any more stupid, i used the covertly named shadyurl.com to hide my malicious url. Ironically, this is my second attempt. The first attempt failed as i forgot that EVE online uses an inbuilt browser. therefore the information from the internet goes to the CCPs IP and not my targets. Therefore the only info i would be able to get, would be the CCPs IP.

Hilariously even though i only got the CCPs IP, Toxic Yaken still clicked my stealer twice.

The failure was down to a stupid mistake on my part, however i will not make the same mistake again.

Now it's just a waiting game...
